1.  How do I become a shipper on Colonial’s system?

To apply for shipper status you must submit a written request and provide us with:

  • a current certified financial statement
  • a forecast by month of your anticipated throughput in thousands of barrels per calendar month by grade of product, by origin and delivery location and whether fungible or segregated
  • product specifications if different from those listed under product specifications
  • written authority from owners/operators to use any non-proprietary facilities connected to the Colonial system

2.  What is the difference between Short Term and Long Term schedules?

Short Term schedules show the "operating" or 5 day schedule and are used by Colonial’s Control Center to operate the pipelines. Long Term schedules show a "forecasted" 30 day schedule and are historically less reliable than the Short Term schedules due to the number of changes made by shippers.
