A Close Eye”, TSA Visits Colonial Pipeline In Atlanta

ATLANTA, Ga. -Since August, Colonial has been visited by two federal agencies whose missions, respectively, are safety and security. An August visit by the National Transportation Safety Board’s (NTSB) Christopher Hart was followed by a second NTSB visit, a tour of Dorsey Junction, in mid-October. Among the NTSB’s chief responsibilities is investigating pipeline accidents.

Later in October, Sonya Proctor of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), visited Colonial to tour the Control Center and Atlanta Junction. Ms. Proctor heads the TSA’s Surface Division of Pipelines, Rail, Highways and Mass Transit. Her focus is security threats against U.S. transportation infrastructure.

These agency visits, along with participation of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in our Unannounced Drill” in Athens, Ga., highlights the interaction Colonial shares with federal agencies. The free exchange of information represents Colonial’s willingness and interest in helping policy-makers understand the industries they oversee.
