Utilizing industry standards and best practices, Colonial will design,
build, and maintain all system components to
maximize system reliability and
longevity. Colonial shall ensure
safety, reliability and maintainability by design. All
designs shall minimize the effects of human error and equipment failure
and shall prevent a single-point failure from developing into a system
failure. Colonial will utilize the best of new and old technology and
standardize system components. Colonial
will build all systems as designed with quality parts and equipment.
Colonial will ensure quality by conducting inspections of the manufacturing
and fabrication processes, and employee and contractor qualifications,
as well as verification of operational integrity before any
system is placed into its originally designed service or placed into a different service.
Once
a system has been placed in service, Colonial will maintain the system
as designed. Colonial will utilize a system of preventive/predictive
maintenance procedures incorporating risk management
principles. Qualified employees and materials shall be made available
to support the maintenance of the system. Integrity management activities
performed on existing systems shall take precedence over all other
operational and construction activities.
