Continuous Process Improvement
Colonial will, as a systematic approach to process design, incorporate into its core operations steps to track process performance that will serve to identify improvement opportunities. Core operations processes will include the use of tools, such as benchmarking, that will compare our process capabilities against industry (both pipeline and otherwise) and against our prior performance. We will incorporate best practices learned or observed into our own processes. Core operations processes will have performance measures that are monitored and aligned with human performance measurement systems. Lessons learned from both internal and external environments will be shared across operational boundaries, and we will incorporate the value of those lessons through process modification. Technology will be sought and employed to carry out process steps with greater consistency, reliability and efficiency, without compromising our commitment to safety and integrity management.
