![]() FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Four Veterans to Join Colonial Pipeline Team July 13, 1999 Colonial Pipeline Company today announced the strategic expansion of its core team with the addition of four new hires. Steve Jacobs and Richard Stewart have been tapped to fill the company's growing business development needs, Susan Castiglione has taken over public affairs efforts, and Melissa Moore has filled the company's newly-created internal communications position.
"Steve, Rich, Susan and Melissa all have very impressive track records in their areas of expertise, so we're excited to have them join our organization," says Tom Guzikowski, director, strategic development, Colonial Pipeline Company. "They are part of an effort to grow and expand our business development and corporate communications teams. We're confident they will quickly augment our capabilities in these key areas."
As business development leader, Jacobs will be responsible for developing and implementing long-term stratgies for new opportunities along Colonial's current pipeline and terminaling businesses. In addition, he will oversee potential acquisitions and new business ventures. Jacobs previously worked for Conoco and Conoco Pipe Line for 17 years. He holds a bachelor's degree in engineering and an MBA from Michigan State University.
Stewart will evaluate the financial and strategic impact of new business ventures as business development coordinator. He was previously an operations and strategy consultant for A.T. Kearney, A Chicago-based management consulting firm. Stewart was also an engineer and project manager for Pratt & Whitney Aerospace, a manufacturer of jet and rocket engines, and Union Switch & Signal, a provider of automated railway systems. Stewart holds a bachelor's degree in applied physics from the University of Virginia, a master's degree in engineering from Florida Atlantic University, and a master's degree in management from the Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern University.
With more than 18 years of public and private enterprise experience, Castiglione will be responsible for overseeing Colonial's public affairs, community relations and crisis communications efforts in her position as manager, public affairs. Prior to joining Colonial, she served as director or nuclear communications for Northeast Utilities, New England's largest electric utility system. Castiglione earned a bachelor's degree in communications and English from New York State University and holds a master's degree in broadcast communications from Syracuse University.
As corporate communications specialist for Colonial, Moore will plan internal communication strategies, manage various internal communications vehicles including a monthly company newsletter, Intranet site and human resources materials, and assist with meeting planning logistics. Prior to joining Colonial, Moore acquired more than 20 years of experience in employee communications, event coordination, crisis management and media relations through working for Southwire Company, Carroll Medical Laboratories, and the State Bar of Georgia. Moore received a bachelor's degree in mass communications from the State University of West Georgia. In addition, she is a member of the Atlanta Press Club and the Public Relations Society of America.
