![]() FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE COLONIAL CONTINUES TO SAFELY ADD CAPACITY TO ITS PIPELINE SYSTEM September 3, 2005 Colonial Pipeline has achieved approximately 73% capacity on its gasoline and distillate lines, and expects to restore capacity to 80% tonight. Colonial anticipates receipt of additional commercial electrical power later this holiday weekend that will restore the Colonial system to 100% of normal operations.
Additionally, Main Line 3 which serves the Philadelphia, PA, and New York markets was restarted last evening and Main Line 4 which serves the Virginia, Baltimore, MD, and Washington, D.C. markets will be restarted this afternoon.
Colonial Pipeline, headquartered in Alpharetta, GA., delivers a daily average of 100 million gallons of gasoline, home heating oil, aviation fuel and other refined petroleum products to communities and businesses throughout South and the Eastern United States. Colonial consists of more than 5,500 miles of pipeline, originating at Houston, Texas, and terminating at the New York harbor. |
