PIPELINE DELIVERIES REACH APPROXIMATELY TWO-THIRDS OF NORMAL

September 29, 2005

Colonial Pipeline announced today that it is currently shipping approximately two-thirds of its normal operational volumes.

Colonial continues to work with its refining partners, its shippers and others to let them know that the pipeline is ready to increase volumes as supplies become available.

"We are aggressively pursuing solutions that will help get fuel deliveries back to a more normal status," said David Lemmon, Colonial President and CEO.

The positioning of portable generators to supplement commercial power and the addition of Drag Reducing Agent to increase delivery rates are two solutions Colonial is using to optimize its operations.

Colonial Pipeline, headquartered in Alpharetta, Ga., delivers a daily average of 100 million gallons of gasoline, home heating oil, aviation fuel and other refined petroleum products to communities and businesses throughout the South and Eastern United States. Colonial consists of more than 5,500 miles of pipeline, originating at Houston, Texas, and terminating at the New York harbor.
