GASOLINE DELIVERIES REACH FULL RATES, POWER AND SUPPLY PICTURE IMPROVE

October 6, 2005

Colonial Pipeline today announced that gasoline shipments from Colonial's Houston origins had reached full, pre-hurricane levels and would continue to operate at 100 percent of capacity as supplies are available.

Colonial's second mainline, which carries distillate products such as home heating oil, diesel fuels and jet fuel, is now delivering at 80 percent of its normal capacity on shipments originating in Houston.

The restoration of commercial power at Colonial facilities in Louisiana, along with portable, distributed power and the injection of Drag Reducing Agent (DRA), allowed Colonial to achieve these improved rates.

Colonial's lines were undamaged by Hurricane Rita but have operated at reduced rates as Gulf Coast refineries resume their operations and while commercial power is restored.

Colonial Pipeline, headquartered in Alpharetta, Ga., delivers a daily average of 100 million gallons of gasoline, home heating oil, aviation fuel and other refined petroleum products to communities and businesses throughout the South and Eastern United States. Colonial consists of more than 5,500 miles of pipeline, originating at Houston, Texas, and terminating at the New York harbor.
