Colonial Pipeline Companys mission of "America’s Energy Lifeline" challenges the Performance & Development Team to continually update and enhance their strategies of satisfying customer needs in todays ever changing marketplace. The following list contains recently completed connections and/or new modes of operating certain existing systems. We invite you to review the list and welcome your comments. Thank you.
New Connection to Texas Eastern Products Pipeline Co. The first delivery by Colonial to Texas Eastern Products Pipeline Co. (TEPPCO) occurred on May 5, 1997. Colonial's project to provide new mainline connections from its Hebert Station, Texas, to the Beaumont, Texas, facilities of TEPPCO began in early 1997. The new pipeline segment allows Colonial to deliver up to 15,000 barrels per hour (BPH) of gasoline or 12,000 BPH of distillates to TEPPCO. The new connection enhances abilities of Gulf Coast refineries in Houston and Beaumont/Port Arthur to supply products to the Central and Midwestern United States, and opens new markets for Colonial. Tosco Connection at Girard Point, NJ Construct a remote origin facility approximately two miles from Woodbury Junction on Colonials ten-inch Line 39 (Girard Point Delivery Line). An interconnection to TOSCOs eight-inch "East Line" was made at this point, allowing TOSCO to move product from their Trainer Refinery (formerly Marcus Hook) to the Exxon Terminal at Girard Point. Construct additions and modifications at Woodbury Junction and Paulsboro Delivery Facility so as to allow reversing Line 45 from Mobils Paulsboro Refinery back into tankage at Woodbury from whence product may be injected into the 03 mainline for transportation to Trenton or New York. Shell Connection at Birmingham, AL Construct dual, twelve-inch delivery lines with a combined length of approximately 4,600 feet by extending two idle delivery lines from Colonials Birmingham Delivery Facility to Shells Birmingham Terminal. Selma Capacity Constraint Solution Three-phase project to increase capacity to markets served by the Greensboro stubline system. Phase One provided DRA injection equipment on 16 Line 22 (Selma), 8 Line 23 (Selma/RDU), and 8/6 Line 24/24F (Apex/Fayette/RDU). Phase 2 provided for the shop modification of the existing 500 hp Unit No. 1 on Line 22 to 1000 hp, including a new motor. Phase 3 involved the purchase and installation of a supplemental 200 hp booster pump for Line 22 to increase operational flexibility and overcome NPSHA problems encountered by the Lines larger pumps at higher flow rates. Chevron Connection at Chattanooga Delivery, TN Construct a ten-inch pipeline, approximately 2,800 feet in length, from Colonials Chattanooga Delivery Facility to the Chevron Terminal. |
