Joe Blount

President, Chief Executive Officer

Joe Blount is the President and Chief Executive Office for Colonial Pipeline Company, the largest refined petroleum products pipeline system in the United States. He joined Colonial Pipeline in October 2017 with more than three decades of experience in the energy industry.

Joe is responsible for developing and executing the company’s strategic direction and vision, as well as leading Colonial Pipeline’s commitment to safe, reliable operations and organizational excellence.

Prior to Colonial Pipeline, Joe served as CEO of Century Midstream LLC, a Houston-based company he co-founded in 2013 to invest in midstream greenfield project development and acquisitions. He also spent ten years with Unocal Corporation, ultimately serving as President and Chief Operating Officer of Unocal Midstream and Trade. During his tenure at Unocal, he also served as a member of Colonial Pipeline’s Board of Directors.

Throughout his career, Joe has been active in energy industry leadership. He is currently serving on the Boards of the American Petroleum Institute (API) and Association of Oil Pipelines (AOPL). Within the community, he serves as Vice Chairman of the Board for InCommunity, a non-profit agency which provides community-based services and support to people with developmental disabilities and their families – an advocacy effort to which Joe has a lifelong passion for.

Joe holds a bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech, and is a graduate of Harvard’s Program for Management Development.

Angela Long

SVP, Chief People Officer and Chief Communications Officer

Angela Long is Senior Vice President, Chief People Officer and Chief Communications Officer. She provides Colonial strategic leadership across a wide spectrum, including people operations, organizational development, talent management and acquisition, total rewards, people technology, corporate communications and government affairs. She champions Colonial’s focus on people, engagement, culture, diversity and inclusion. 

In her previous role as Director of Internal Audit, Angela developed a program of audits and special projects to assess and mitigate risks, while ensuring compliance with established regulations, processes, and controls. She further identifies and supports opportunities to improve the controls and processes for existing and new businesses and information systems.

Angela joined Colonial in 2009, and has served in the roles of Tax Manager, Director of Tax, and Director of Audit. She brings to Colonial more than 20 years of experience working with regulated companies in various industries, including insurance and banking. Prior to Colonial, she was Director of Corporate Taxation for WellPoint (now Anthem).

Angela earned both her Bachelor of Business Administration, and Master of Accountancy in Taxation from the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business. She also is a Certified Public Accountant.

Angela Kolar

SVP, Operations Services & Chief Risk Officer

Angela Kolar is Colonial Pipeline’s Senior Vice President of Operations Services and Chief Risk Officer. Appointed to this role in June 2017, Angela oversees the company’s Enterprise Risk, Safety, Compliance, Asset Integrity, Technical Training, Project Management & Implementation, and Safety Management System functions.

In her previous role as Southeast District Director of Operations, she oversaw operations and maintenance across five states. In 2004, she joined Colonial as Senior Accountant and has since transitioned through various leadership positions including Director of Organizational Effectiveness, Director of Compliance, Operations Manager, and Business Manager. Prior to Colonial, she held positions with a public accounting firm and later with global pharmaceutical company, Pfizer Inc. 

In the industry, Angela is Past-President of the Greater Atlanta Chapter of Women’s Energy Network and currently serves on the American Petroleum Institute Pipeline Safety Excellence Sub-Committee. Angela is currently chair of the Pipeline Safety Management System (SMS) Industry Team.

Angela earned a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from East Tennessee State University and a Master of Business Administration from Arkansas State University.

Clay Miller

SVP, Chief Financial Officer

Clay Miller is Colonial Pipeline’s Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Clay guides Colonial’s financial performance, supporting the Company’s commitment to safe, reliable operations as well as to profitable growth and disciplined cost management. He oversees the company’s Strategic Analysis, Treasury, Insurance, Budget and Forecasting, Accounting, Tax and Procurement teams. Clay previously served as Corporate Controller. 

Prior to joining Colonial in 2013, Clay worked in a variety of financial services roles in companies across several industries. He began his career in client service through public accounting before joining industry and assisting with a company’s public offering and subsequent strategic pursuits, which included a recapitalization and follow up acquisition and integration activity.

Clay holds both his Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Accountancy from the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business, as well as a Master of Business Administration from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School. He has been a member of various professional organizations throughout his career, and has served on the Association of Oil Pipe Lines’ Accounting Committee. He also is a Certified Public Accountant.

David Gray

SVP and General Counsel

David Gray is Senior Vice President and General Counsel for Colonial Pipeline Company. In his role, David leads Colonial’s legal functions, including the ongoing relationship with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and other regulatory agencies. 

David has approximately 25 years of legal experience, mainly focused in the energy industry. Prior to joining Colonial in August 2019, he was Senior Vice President for the midstream business of EQT Corporation, one of the largest midstream providers in North America. In this position, he was responsible for business development, asset optimization and the rates and regulatory departments. Under his leadership, the midstream business experienced significant growth in a complex regulated environment. 

During his tenure at EQT, David also served as General Counsel for Equitable Gas Company and Assistant General Counsel for midstream and commercial. In those roles, he provided extensive legal oversight in various areas, including regulatory, commercial, corporate governance, litigation and environmental matters. Prior to EQT, he was Assistant General Counsel for FirstEnergy and Allegheny Energy, Inc., and he has more than ten years of experience in private law practice with several firms.

David is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics, and holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.

Daniel Gordon

SVP, Chief Commercial Officer

Daniel Gordon is Vice President, Chief Commercial Officer. In his role, Gordon leads Colonial’s commercial affairs functions by maximizing opportunities to grow the company and position Colonial for long-term success.

Gordon brings approximately 20 years of commercial affairs experience to his new role at Colonial, all focused in the energy industry. Most recently, he was Executive Vice President, Business Development for Delek US Holdings, Inc. Under his leadership, Delek US successfully established market share in Mexico, and made several key acquisitions that expanded the business. Gordon served in other capacities at Delek where he was responsible for its crude acquisition strategy, trucking operations, hedging, and pricing for MAPCO convenience stores.

He began his career with RaceTrac Petroleum. There he served as Executive Director of Supply and Distribution, where he oversaw the distribution of more than two billion gallons of refined fuels and directed supply and trading, scheduling, commercial, and transportation. In this role, he also gained valuable insight into Colonial Pipeline as a shipper on the system.

Gordon is a graduate of the University of Florida where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance, and holds a Master of Business Administration from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Wes Dunbar

SVP of Operations

Wes Dunbar is Senior Vice President of Operations for Colonial Pipeline. Dunbar is responsible for all Colonial operations activity and joined the company in January 2020. 

Starting in 2010, Dunbar served as Vice President, Natural Gas Pipelines Operations at ONEOK, responsible for operations of both the interstate and intrastate pipelines. ONEOK is a leading midstream service provider and owns one of the nation’s premier natural gas liquids (NGL) systems, connecting NGL supply in the Mid-Continent, Permian and Rocky Mountain regions with key market centers and an extensive network of natural gas gathering, processing, storage and transportation assets.

He began his career at Oklahoma Natural Gas in 1989, and held jobs of increasing responsibility in various areas of operations. In 2001, he was named Manager, Operations, of ONEOK WesTex Transmission, and was later named Vice President, Commercial, Intrastate Pipelines.

Dunbar currently serves on the Pipeline Safety Executive Committee of the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America. He also formerly served on the board of Junior Achievement of Eastern Oklahoma, the Texas Gas Association, and the Tulsa Area United Way.

An Oklahoma native, Dunbar earned a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial engineering in 1989 from the University of Oklahoma in Norman, and a Master of Business Administration degree in 1993 from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater.

Darrell Riekena

SVP, Chief Information Officer

Darrell Riekena is the Chief Information Officer for Colonial Pipeline Company. He leads the strategy and operations of information technology across the company, including Infrastructure, Applications & Systems, Solutions Delivery, Data & Analytics and Cybersecurity. Darrell is responsible for providing strategic and tactical technology planning and execution for Colonial’s core business, new business and technology projects, and process improvements. 

Previously, Darrell served as the CIO and executive vice president for Republic National Distributing Company (RNDC). At RNDC, he led technology transformation supporting company growth, which included mergers and acquisitions, and business process improvements. While serving at RNDC, Darrell was also nominated for Georgia CIO of the Year in 2018, 2019 and 2021. 

Darrell is a highly regarded CIO with extensive experience in IT leadership. He joined Colonial in June 2022, with more than 30 years of technology, industry and supply chain knowledge. Darrell has also held executive-level roles in technology and business operations with Target, The Kroger Company, LimitedBrands and JCPenney. 

Throughout Darrell’s career, his primary focus has been on transforming organizations through an evolution of strategy, operations, and implementation of technologies to enable growth, streamline operational and customer service levels, improve margins, and create new business channels. He has a proven track record of developing and delivering innovative, high-impact solutions, such as digital transformation, data, business intelligence and analytics, enterprise resource planning and technology modernization. 

Darrell holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management Information Systems from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, and he serves on a variety of industry and nonprofit boards.
