American Petroleum Institute Recognizes Colonial Pipeline for Safety

ALPHARETTA, Georgia (May 3, 2022) – Colonial Pipeline was recognized by the American Petroleum Institute (API) with a ​“2021 Distinguished Pipeline Safety Award” in the medium operator category. The award, which recognizes the performance of operators for their efforts to improve safety within the pipeline industry, is part of API’s effort to recognize the efforts by the industry drive toward zero pipeline incidents. The company received the award in 2019.

Colonial was selected from among industry peers following API’s comprehensive review of safety records, proactive initiatives and actions taken in the prior year to advance pipeline safety and overall industry safety performance.
