Singletons Way Closure

Singletons Way Closure

June 8 – June 27, 2020

Colonial Pipeline (Colonial) owns and operates the largest refined products pipeline system in the United States, which includes a pipeline going through your area. As an ongoing part of our number one commitment — safety — we proactively conduct inspections and maintenance on our system.

Through our integrity management program, we invest significant resources – and use high-tech tools to inspect the pipe from the inside using technology similar to an MRI – which allow us to keep our lines in top operating condition. In June, as part of this maintenance program, we will be completing a project in your area, which will involve a road closure of Singletons Way at New Braddock Road. This project will include excavation of the pipeline, conducting any maintenance required and restoring the road and property.

Beginning on Monday, June 8, 2020 at 9 a.m., through Saturday, June 27, 2020 at 7 p.m., Colonial, in cooperation with the Virginia Department of Transportation and Fairfax County, will temporarily close approximately 200 feet of Singletons Way at New Braddock Road. No driveways or additional streets will be obstructed. Alternatives routes will be marked upon the closure of the section of the roadway and are illustrated in the maps provided.

In order to complete this work in the shortest timeframe possible, and to leverage the decreased traffic flow at this time, Colonial crews will be working daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., six days per week (Monday through Saturday), throughout the duration of the project.

We recognize this work may cause some inconvenience for your family, neighborhood and local businesses, and we appreciate your patience as we work safely and efficiently to complete this project. Should you have any questions or concerns about the project, please contact me at the numbers listed above or visit additional sections of our website, colpipe.com, to learn more about Colonial.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation and understanding. If you have questions related to the detour, please contact Colonial Right-of-Way Representative Terry Mock at [email protected] or 404 – 771-7334. Additional updates will be posted on this webpage, as needed.
