Colonial Pipeline Terminals continues to lead the industry in safe operations and a commitment to excellence.

The International Liquid Terminals Association (ILTA) last week awarded its Platinum Safety Award to Colonial for outstanding safety performance, along with a Safety Excellence Award. The Platinum award is ILTA’s highest honor for safety.

“This recognition shows the commitment our Terminals team members bring with them to operate and work safely every day,” said Mike Smith, Director of Operations for Colonial’s pipelines and Southeast District. “I’m really proud of our team and the excellence and accountability reflected in being recognized with these awards.”

ILTA has honored Colonial for safe operations each year since the company entered the terminals business in 2021. Most recently Colonial was among operators that were recognized with ILTA’s 2024 and 2025 Safety Excellence Awards. Colonial last won the Platinum Safety Award in 2023.

Colonial owns and operates four terminals in Austell, Ga., Fredericksburg, Va., Chattanooga, and Charlotte.
