Terminals

The Colonial system is connected to more than 270 terminals along its route from Houston to the New York Harbor. These terminals are also referred to as tankage parties, or simply tankers.

Additionally, Colonial Pipeline Terminals owns and operates four terminals in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic. Each respective terminal has three loading bays and is either connected to our CPL, PPL, or both pipelines.

Product Specifications

Specifications Document
This document addresses product specifications, including proper and prohibited additives. Find codes for products that are handled on both a segregated and common-stream (fungible) basis. The PTD language for the products we ship can also be found here. 

Additive Services 

Colonial Pipeline Terminals offers several additive options for gasoline and distillates, which give our customers a wide range of marketing and performance options at retail or commercial accounts. We also have the ability to install proprietary additive systems at our terminals for branded and unbranded fuels.  

Intake Valve Deposit (IVD) 

Colonial Pipeline Terminals can provide any level of detergency needed to minimize or clean up intake valve deposits. We offer the mandated injection rate to the Top Tier rate. 

Cold Flow Improvers

Colonial’s cold flow improver has the capability to keep distillates and renewable fuels from gelling in cold weather.   

Red Dye

For off-road and non-transportation applications, we have the specified treat rate for DOT standards.  

Ethanol Storage & Blending Services 

Each Colonial terminal offers storage and blending services for ethanol. Storage is available as fungible storage with blending rates at the rack for E10%, E15% and E85.
