Bill Scott Named Chief Operating Officer At Colonial Pipeline

ATLANTA, Ga. — W.D. Bill” Scott of Sugar Land, Texas, has been named to the new position of senior vice president and chief operating officer of Colonial Pipeline Co. effective June 1. 

Scott currently serves as branded marketing manager for the Gulf Coast Business Unit of energy company Conoco Inc., a subsidiary of E.I. duPont. 

Atlanta-based Colonial is the nation’s largest-volume refined petroleum pipeline system. With 1997 annual revenues of $576.2 million, it daily transports about 80 million gallons of gasoline, aviation fuel, home heating oil, diesel fuel and national defense fuels from Gulf Coast refineries to marketing terminals in the Southeast and along the Eastern Seaboard. 

Before being named to his present position, Scott served with Conoco in the areas of joint venture management, natural gas liquids product trading, pipeline operations, surface transportation, crude oil trading, corporate planning and executive assistant to the president. 

Born in Morgantown, W. Va., he graduated from Texas Technical University with a BBA degree in management. He has also earned a master’s degree from Southern Methodist University. 

Scott, his wife Carol and their three daughters will relocate to Atlanta.
