Colonial Pipeline Announces Upgrade to Intra Harbor Transfer (IHT) Service in New Jersey — New York Area

ALPHARETTA, GA (March 5, 2020) – As part of Colonial Pipeline’s commitment to providing excellent customer service, we are excited to announce several enhancements to our Intra Harbor Transfer (IHT) service in New Jersey — New York. Colonial’s IHT service provides customers the opportunity to make terminal-to-terminal transfers through our Linden Junction facility.

Colonial announced to its shippers today that IHT service can now support transport of segregated batches. Customers can transfer segregated products, such as gasoline components, while having increased flexibility for the timing of shipments. Historically, IHT shipments were limited to fungible grades only.

The IHT Service and recent upgrades offer a creative and strategic solution for moving petroleum products within one of the largest distribution hubs in the United States,” said Colonial Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, Dan Gordon. These enhancements are part of Colonial’s growth strategy to expand our services to meet customer needs.”

In addition, Colonial recently completed manifold improvements that enable the conversion of all delivery lines to bi-directional service. Currently, only Linden Delivery Lines 7 and 10 support bi-directional shipments. Colonial plans to work with terminals and shippers to expand the service to additional lines, based on interest.
