Colonial Pipeline Donates $10,000 To Lookout Mountain Conservancy

LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Tenn.
 — Colonial Pipeline Co. recently donated $10,000 to the Lookout Mountain Conservancy to support its conservation efforts.

The mission of the
Lookout Mountain Conservancy is to protect Lookout Mountain’s scenic, historic and ecological resources, through conservation, advocacy, recreation and education, for current and future generations. From Hamilton County, Tennessee to Etowah County, Alabama, LMC works to protect significant scenic, historic and ecological sites by connecting existing conservation areas. LMC provides environmental education and information to landowners and other interested parties about land conservation options. And, LMC promotes greenway development and conservation planning.

Since 1991, the Lookout Mountain Conservancy has worked diligently to fulfill its mission to protect Lookout Mountain’s scenic, historic and ecological resources, through conservation, advocacy, recreation and education for current and future generations.

Thanks to the support of companies like Colonial Pipeline, a lovely wayside park was established instead of a junk car lot, and TheGuild/Hardy Trail, a five-mile walking and biking trail, has been maintained along a former narrow-gauge railway on the side of Lookout Mountain, and over 1,400 acres of public and private land are under permanent protection.

Colonial remains committed to protecting and preserving the environment and communities we share our pipeline with.

Based in Alpharetta, Ga., Colonial is a 5,500-mile pipeline system transporting gasoline, diesel fuel, jet fuel, home heating oil and fuels for the U.S. military. The network of underground pipelines originates in Houston, Texas, and terminates at Linden, N.J., on the New York harbor. For more information, please visit
