Colonial Pipeline New Owners Of Alliance Pipeline & Collins, Miss. Tank Farm

ATLANTA, Ga. — Atlanta-based Colonial Pipeline Company recently completed the purchase of the Alliance Products Pipeline and Terminal System, which was previously owned and operated by BP.

Colonial’s purchase of the assets, first announced in July 2000, includes a 20-inch pipeline that extends 147 miles from Belle Chase (Alliance), La., to Collins, Miss., and a 2.2 million barrel products tank farm located at Collins.

Colonial Pipeline is an interstate common carrier pipeline that transports refined petroleum products from the Gulf Coast of Texas and Louisiana to various locations along the eastern coast of the United States.

With the completion of the purchase, the pipeline and tank farm are now operated by Colonial. Colonial looks forward to serving all of the communities along the Alliance Pipeline with the same commitment to public safety and environmental protection that guides its operation throughout communities along the eastern seaboard.
