Colonial Pipeline Participates In Reptile Blitz” With Nature Conservancy Of Mississippi

COLLINS, Miss. — Colonial’s Mississippi team participated in a reptile blitz” with the Nature Conservancy of Mississippi on April 28, 2017.

Colonial’s employees surveyed a wetland for box turtles and other reptiles to help collect information on their locality, age, size, etc. This information will be used to help the conservancy and its scientist understand the current environment and preserve this fragile wildlife habitat. Much of the survey work was done near and on Colonial’s right-of-way (ROW) in Mississippi.

The assistance from your team was appreciated tremendously as we were able to cover more ground in a shorter span of time than we would normally be able to accomplish,” said Nature Conservancy project coordinator Melinda R. Lyman. We all thank you so much for your help and support in our conservation efforts.

Colonial is committed to protecting the environment we share our pipeline with. As part of this commitment, Colonial maintains a partnership with the Nature Conservancy of Mississippi. Earlier this year, Colonial made a $10,000 donation to support the Nature Conservancy of Mississippi’s mission.
