Colonial Pipeline Supports Junior Achievement Of Central North Carolina

GREENSBORO, NC – Junior Achievement of Central North Carolina has received $35,000 in grants from six Piedmont Triad companies over the fourth quarter of 2014. Funding will support classroom-based financial literacy and STEM-focused workplace readiness training in K‑12 schools. A grant from Dow Corning Corporation also supports Junior Achievement’s new and intensive job shadow program for 11th grade students.

Without the investment of local corporations, students would not experience the life-changing programs our volunteers deliver in classrooms across our six-county service area,” said Jacqueline McCracken, Junior Achievement interim president/​CEO. We appreciate that these companies believe in the economic and career readiness training we provide.”

Piedmont Triad companies made the following investments in Junior Achievement K‑12 educational programming:

  • VF Corporation - $15,000
  • Ecolab Inc. - $5,000
  • Volvo Trucks North America — $5,000
  • Caterpillar Inc. — $3,000
  • Colonial Pipeline Company — $2,000
  • Dow Corning Corporation — $5,000

Our programs are developing a skilled workforce from the ground up, starting at the beginning of an individual’s educational experience,” said Junior Achievement Board Chairman, John Chapman.
