ALPHARETTA, GA (May 28, 2020) – The International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) has announced that Colonial Pipeline is among the winners of a 2020 Gold Quill Award. The company received its award for a project to relaunch its external website, colpipe.com.

For more than 40 years, IABC’s Gold Quill Awards – one of the most prestigious awards programs in the industry – have recognized excellence in strategic communication worldwide. The Gold Quill Awards honor the dedication, innovation and passion of communicators on a global scale, with a focus on achieving solid business outcomes.

In today’s digital world, an external website is an important part of engaging with and meeting stakeholder expectations, while telling the company’s story. In receiving this award, we would like to acknowledge the many contributors throughout the company who provided content and expertise, in particular, our Technology group,” said Kevin Feeney, Senior Director, Communications for Colonial Pipeline. We would also like to recognize Judson Design, who provided creative input and partnered with us to ensure the site is state-of-the art and user-friendly.”

According to feedback from the IABC Gold Quill evaluators, Rebuilding a website is not an easy task and to deliver something that is new in the digital environment is a big challenge. You did a great job to bring your company into the new, visual world of online media.”

In total, the awards committee selected 201 entries as world-class, with 81 entries earning an Excellence Award and 120 earning a Merit Award. Winners come from 12 countries and companies of all sizes.

Recent events have highlighted that more than ever, we live in an interconnected world,” said awards committee chair Ed Kamrin. This year’s Gold Quill winners demonstrate that our commitment to strategic communication crosses borders – and that our work is vital to the organizations we serve.”
