Angie Kolar Named a Woman of Influence” by Atlanta Business Chronicle

ALPHARETTA, Ga. (October 14, 2021) —  Angie Kolar, Vice President – Operations Services and Chief Risk Officer for Colonial Pipeline, has been named as a Women of Influence honoree by the Atlanta Business Chronicle for 2021. The honor recognizes Atlanta-area women for the difference they are making in their communities, for blazing a trail for others, and progressing business across different professions and industries across Atlanta.

Her leadership style is one that fosters a collaborative environment, which is key to driving positive change and furthering our company culture and values.”

Appointed to her current role in 2017, Kolar oversees the company’s enterprise risk, safety, pipeline compliance, environmental, and the company’s overall safety management system – which received the 2019 American Petroleum Institute Distinguished Pipeline Safety Award based on industry leading programs and safety culture advancements. She has also served as incident commander during times of crisis response, leading large teams, collaborating with state and federal agencies, and serving as the company’s official spokesperson.

Outside of her role at Colonial Pipeline, she continues her leadership and service calling by serving on a number of organizations and non-profits. She currently serves on the Board of HOPE Atlanta, through which she has served in a leadership capacity with the Young Professionals Board (YPB) since its inception and helped establish a strong fundraising and volunteer arm for the organization. In the oil and gas industry, Kolar is the past president of the Greater Atlanta Chapter of Women’s Energy Network. She is currently chair of the American Petroleum Institute Pipeline Steering Group and currently serves on the Pipeline Safety Excellence Sub-Committee. She is also past-chair of the Pipeline Safety Management System Industry Team.

Kolar joined Colonial Pipeline in 2004 as a senior accountant and has since transitioned through a variety of leadership positions across a number of capabilities, including business management, compliance, operations and organizational effectiveness. 

Kolar will join 20 other women at an annual awards ceremony Thursday evening, October 14, 2021.
