Rhonda Brandon Named To Top Human Resources Post At Colonial Pipeline

ATLANTA, Ga. — Rhonda S. Brandon, presently director of human resources for the Global Information Technology unit of NIKE, Inc., in Beaverton, Ore., has been named director of human resources for Colonial Pipeline Co. of Atlanta. The appointment is effective Dec. 1. 

She will replace H.R. Hal” Melendy, who is retiring. 

Ms. Brandon was named to her present position with NIKE in early 1997. Prior to that, she held human resources management positions of increasing importance from 1983 to 1997 with the IBM Corporation, ICF Kaiser and Hughes Network Systems. 

Atlanta-based Colonial is the nation’s largest-volume refined petroleum pipeline system. With 1997 annual revenues of $576.2 million, it daily transports about 80 million gallons of gasoline, aviation fuel, home heating oil, diesel fuel and national defense fuels from Gulf Coast refineries to marketing terminals in the Southeast and along the Eastern Seaboard. 

Ms. Brandon is active in the Society of Human Resources Management and the Society of Professional Human Resources Management. 

She is a graduate of Hampton University in Hampton, Va. 

Ms. Brandon, her husband Kevin and their children Brianna and Myles will relocate to Atlanta.
